Work with Astrogun
Astrogun is a small self-funded independent games studio and publisher, supporting the company and ourselves by both contracting with other developers and with proceeds from our product sales, operating on a sole proprietor scale. To ensure sustainability, our company is designed to be lean and modular, contracting work-for-hire project roles remotely worldwide as needed.
Astrogun SCA
All project work-for-hire is owned by Astrogun LLC outright per our Standard Contractor Agreement (SCA), deployed through Adobe Sign for swift e-signatures anywhere on the globe. We are happy to provide and share credit with our contractors, ideally building a long-term relationship of ongoing collaboration on many projects. We are also happy to refer our own clients to you, should there be a great fit in their projects as well.
Structure
At Astrogun, general roles report to Lead roles / Dept. Producers under Associate Producer Richard King, who reports to Projects Lead Xander Davis. Everyone works remotely on tasks managed in Trello, communication centralized in Slack (including video / audio calls) and (rarely) e-mail. We don’t care about tracking time; we only care about timely results.
Remote Internships
As a very small indie studio, we are currently highly interested in bringing aboard remote interns willing to work solely for credit in our games (particularly our already-shipped, ongoing multi-platform game VAST™) and to gain valuable experience, mentorship, professional networking, and, depending on how you perform, written recommendations. This is especially meant to appeal to those starting their careers in the games industry. In your submission, let us know if you are applying as an Intern; this will make you extremely attractive to us. We will not forget those who believe in us early, stick with us, and are about to help us achieve the next level.
Responsiveness
If we don’t respond, rest assured, all submitted CVs / portfolios are kept on file. See our specific jobs postings below for whatever need we’re currently exploring:

Textures / Materials Artist(s)
Project: VAST
Astrogun is looking for Textures / Materials Artists to help us design the look of the surfaces of our levels under an HD reinvention of old school traditional level building and texturing style that also fits within an ‘anime-flavored’ bright, colorful, and somewhat cartoony art direction. Musician(s)
Project: General / Astrogun Ultra! / VAST
Astrogun is looking for Musicians willing to compose original music or sell existing music outright to Astrogun at a rate affordable to our lean studio. We’re looking for music that spans from relaxing and calming to happy and cozy to swift and adventurous. Target influences include Nintendo / Squaresoft / Square Enix Japanese-style anime / video game music, especially with a retro 90’s Super Nintendo video game vibe (however, not chip-tunes in production style, but can be chip-tune-like through modern production). This is sometimes described as ‘organic electronic’. High-energy music can include wailing and wild electric guitar riffs and drum’n’bass beats. Other style guides include SEGA and Capcom.
Ideally, we’re looking for track buyout to own all rights as the record label for possible future releases of original soundtracks and may publish OSTs as ‘Astrogun’ (similar to certain other game publishers) and are happy to provide credit when possible. In whatever product your music is used in, such as VAST, you will be included in the Credits section, which is then also viable for your own IMDb credit. We can get your credit on IMDb if you need help with this too.
